CorreyDuffel sixstair.com Sharing an addiction for skateboarding, travel, and Super 8 moviemaking, New York-based Coan Nichols and Rick Charnoski first teamed up in 1998 to produce Fruit of the Vine, about off-the-radar skaters who find and skate empty swimming pools. With the success of that instant classic, they launched NCP Films. Northwest soon followed, staying true to the organic, on-the-road NCP style. In 2003, they relocated to Los Angeles and, a year later, released Tent City, documenting a month-long skate trip through Australia with the Antihero team. More recently, they shot Super 8 footage for Gus Van Sant’s feature film, Paranoid Park. In addition to movies about skateboarding, their film portfolio covers surfing, fashion, and music. Six Stair is Nichols and Charnoski’s new production company.
